Bugatti Veyron - 1,001HP (hah) engine info
I know it's been mentioned around the forums before, but it doesn't look like much has been said about the whole car. 7-speed sequential F1 trans and AWD drivetrain? 365mm tires in the rear? (drool)
Here's a link from howstuffworks.com about the Veyron

Here's another article from Popular Science about the engine.

Trying to compete with the Cadillac XV16 engine I guess? 1,000HP vs 1,001HP.

I think there was the drivetrain issue. 7 gears and awd too weak to handle all the power.
Then there was the aerodynamics, the car was dangerously unstable over 200mph.
Leave the 240mph+ runs for Indy cars.
I'd be suprised if this thing makes it to the US.
Fortunately VW learned a lesson. BMW and MB will too.

They are now also backing off of the 240 mph top speed.
