Shoot, I don't even think I added my opinion of the Q in this thread. I just posted the article (which pretty much sums up what I have to say).
Acura has a similar problem, the less expensive RSX/TSX/TL is more known and loved than the RL. Poor NSX, it just never caught on with the general public (though it is held in high regard with enthusiests and the auto press).
Caddy did a good job with the XLR, as they have a flagship that is now respected.

The problem with the NSX is the $90K pricetag for a car that really hasn't been updated much since introduction. I would LOVE to have one, but the other problem is they hold their value rather well and decent used ones are still $40K.

Just saw another older Q. This was the second gen. It also was black with what appeared to be 18in chrome wheels. They were really wide though. This 2nd gen doesn't look nearly as good as the 1st gen...at least not to me. In order, I like the 1st gen, then 3rd. Won't even include the 2nd.

Upper 4s and lower 13s sounds pretty good to me. I would imagine its competition is the 911 and I think that car is in the same ballpark.

As far as I know, all Infiniti's still use fake wood... is that still true? Thats one thing infiniti needs to realize, when you're making a luxury flagship, you can't get away with the same tactics you can in a entry G35. All of the interior materials, exterior paint, etc. need to be up to par wit the rest of the big boys (LS430, A8L, S-Class). I love the G35's, but I've wrote off ever buying anthing else from them simply because the fact that if they use fake wood in their Q45, god knows what other corners they've been cutting in the car. However, i'd like them to redesign it and it come up with a formidable opponent for the LS... competition usually means that the customer wins in the end because the whole field steps up their game to bring bigger and better products.

Back to the Q-ship. Geez, my third Q sighting in 3 days. Saw a current model today. Had nice looking chrome wheels but the owner seems to be neglecting it. Has a big dent and looks like it hasn't been washed in quite a while.

It's amazing what you find when you look for them... We've detailed a first gen and a third gen at work and both were not that bad. In fact, the 2000 (I think) came with a back up camera that had a thingy to gauge you distance behind you. Pretty cool and early (at least in the US).
