2007 LEXUS LS & IS...New Sketches!
Just got the new Motor Trend issue in the mail.
The latest sketches are in. Although probably
not completely accurate, this should be a good
indication of where these models are headed.
The artical talks about Lexus new passionate
design direction. The LS will undergo major
change for 2007 and will lose its overly conservative
appearence for a much more stylish model. It
will have 2 wheel base lengths (news to me!)
with the longer competing with the long wheel base
S-class and 7 series.
The IS will come following the new GS and right before
the LS. The IS will come as a sedan, coupe, and convertable
and be much sleaker and stylish to better compete with the
3 series.
I took a pic of the artical (I don't have a scanner. Sorry, I
couldn't avoid the glare with the glossy paper but you
can still see the cars pretty well.
The LS is of course the bottom sketch. What do guys think!?

Thanks for the pic. Although these are just artist'srenditions, I'm hopeful the next LS will look visually more appealing than the current one. This sketch of the LS will look better with a smaller and more triangular grill.

Is it me or are all the concept drawings almost identical nowadays? Those drawings give no feeling of Lexus and could very well be any of the new sporty concepts. I dunno, I guess comparing it with the current LS I'm really let down. I pray these are drawings done by someone unrelated to Lexus and are simply artist renderings. for now.

are they reverting somewhat back to the old style gen designs sorta? the bottom half of the front bumpers look very similar to the 95-96 SC's. the way the outer parts in front of the wheels are lower than the middle and the middle airdam with separate small air dams near the fog lights.......

Hey, if you have this magazine in question... look at the next page. There is "lexus" fried chicken and "lexus" liquers... theyre using the nameplate to market certain products. (Not a direct advertisement, just a informant.

Considering the current LS is considered by many to be the finest auto built, and considering it is the best seller in it's segment, if they make the styling "younger", could they sell 30k a year?
Can it be anymore aerodynamic. The current tankish LS 430 has a drag of what, .25. That is freaking unheard up, especially such a large car.
They say the next LS and generations of Lexi will shake up the world like they did in 1989-1992. We'll see.

Patience anyway, the hybrid Lexus's are going to give huge torque AND great fuel economy - MB/BMW will be crying in their boots then.
