Who makes the best cars/trucks?

Hmmm....I don't know about this one.....they are all great in different aspects......
I have friends and family members who have either GM, Ford, or Mopar products. I can honestly say, I don't know which one is the best product. I can't take sides because I truly know Lexus is the best....LoL
I guess It all boils down to your preference and experience - but if you take care your car, it should provide you with many happy hours of driving, no matter what you drive.

for trucks...i guess the public and the numbers prove year after year that F-150 is the winner.
personally, i don't like any American Cars...yet.
well, the Caddy has come a long way though. i dig the new convertible...but probably won't ever go with an american car...not in the next 10-20 years unless something huge happens.

I'm conflicted here...I own 2 GM cars, but I have to say, for a premier SUV like the Escalade (granted, mine is just a rebadged Denali), the interior is GARBAGE. Brittle plastic parts (mirrors have broken 3x, rear cupholder 2x). The quality on both Corvettes...magnificent. Only Fords I've owned were Mustangs, and while they had tremendous power, overall build quality = poor at BEST.
Chrysler, well, until recently
I'll have to say GM, only because I've had the best experiences there.

That's easy, Dodge / Chrysler!
BTW, the F-150 always remains the best seller not because
it's always the best, but because of it's loyalty base. Also, some
people will buy it simply because it's the best selling.
Think about it, when Dodge unleased the radical '94 Ram
it was hands down the best truck ever designed and built.
Nevertheless, the aged Ford and Chevy competition still sold
more just because they always have.

Good question. I would love to hear more answers. From an outsiders perspective, I like:
Ford Harley Davidson F-150 S/C (I don't think they make it anymore)
GM Sierra Quadrasteer
Bitkahuna did some serious shopping to buy a Truck to pull his wife's horse trailer. He chose a loaded F-150. Being an interior junkie (me), wise choice.

A few friends of mine were discussing this question and we all agreed that GM was the best over all. We did agree that Ford can take you to 100k+ miles but Ford is hit or miss, Dodge was last for many reasons.
With Toyota, Honda or Nissan you pretty much know what you get and what you don't but they are always steady and reliable.
Not the fastest or greatest style but consist and a good value for dollar.

I would say, out of personal experience, GM. My family has owned cars from all of the big 3.... the cars that my sister, brother and I got when we first were turned 16 were GM's (they both drove a 89 buick century, that my parents purchased in 1991.... i got a 99 olds intrigue DOHC 3.5L brand new) and they were actually non-problematic.... never had mechanical issues with either. The only issues with my olds was the clock on the radio wasn't keeping accurate time and a couple of interior trim pieces started to come off.... all replaced under warranty. My car was comfortable, smooth and had good power (215hp, 230ft/lb). The ford and chrysler my parents had before on the other hand were just problem after problem.

Among cars, it varies. Buick has perhaps the best overall repair record...and the Chrysler PT Cruiser is also better than average. Ford has the best body quality. Saturn has the nice plastic panels...but the interiors on the Ion and VUE are garbage. Chrysler overall has perhaps the best styling..but not much else.
If it were money, I'd probably take a Buick in spite of its stodgy, "Grandma" image.
