Default well

modded the chrysler turbo cars of the 80's
syclone and typhoon's of the early 90's
modded these days the srt-4, cheap car, can be made fast resale is horrid, but then again its a neon
i really don't consider a 100k car and up a sleeper, expenisve vehicles are on average fast. and people expect them to fly literally.

Did you notice that it kept spinning the rear wheels all the way down the track?

How about this?

With the engine sticking out like that it kind of looses the sleeper status.

There used to be a guy who lived in my neighbourhood with a 94 Camry, 4 door, v6 (just like many moms drive).
Only thing is, he slapped on the Supra 7M-GTE turbo, boosting output to ~345hp.

The only thing that prevents his car from being a sleeper, is the terrible body kit he slapped on to it...

In anycase, the Camry could be a sleeper.

How about the new v6 nissan altima.....family car with a 6 speed (or 5 correct me if Im wrong) is 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. a few mods would make that one heck of a force I think.

How did he get a *straight* six RWD engine into a FWD V6 engine bay? Is this car RWD now?

For an easier Camry sleeper project, the 3S-GTE will bolt into any 4-cyl s-series engine Camry. Some even came all-wheel drive. Just find a Celica All-Trac turbo donor car, swap the guts, and bingo. Same goes for RAV4's.

I have to disagree with some of you about the cops preferring to target expensive autos in writing out tickets and/or hauling people off to jail for speeding.

Cops pull that ricer crap day and night. Kids slap on fart-pipes and neon (thus transforming their otherwise bland vehicles into exotics) and away they go down the highway going as fast as that Civic DX hatch will take them ...

No, I think it has more to do with age and whatever excuse you may or may not be able to come up with.

Besides, I'd rather have my license taken away driving an E55 - but that's just me.

In an unrelated note - that van with wheelcovers running an 11 in the quarter was pretty entertaining.

I meant he slapped on the snail, not an engine swap.
Sorry for the confusion!

the E55 and the regular E430/E500 is the wheels and badging and maybe simple
ground effects. To me this seems like the ultimate stock sleeper.

Could this family sedan perhaps take a C5 off the line?

Not perhaps...yes it can. At our December event, a guy showed up with a c5...I think it was somewhat modded too. ANother guy was there with an e55. Guess who won the race...the e55.
