Hi everbody!! Remember me? (new 5-speed F-XT) (56K, step away )
Hey everyone!! I see CL has been growing phenomenally and remains strong, which is great. I remember there was a time when I used to visit this place many times a day to banter and rant and argue...My, how times have changed. For no particular reason, I haven't posted here in months, although I've been dropping by every now and again to lurk. So much going on here, so many things to keep up with!! It's kinda overwhelming.
I still think of you guys and gals from time to time, especially the O.G.'s from the "Hot Women Thread"-era and before...Good times, good times, so long ago...Oh, I've gone back to Charleston and will be staying here for the remainder of my college years, so if anybody from Port City has joined CL while I've been gone () give me a shout.
Anyway, over the past year I've been shopping for a new car and my search has led me down many paths and dark alleys...err...automotive message boards. I've cross-shopped cars that no one in the right mind should never ever never cross-shop.
Well, nearly a month ago I took delivery of a 2004 Subaru Forester XT 5-speed in Platinum Silver, FOB still wrapped in plastic with just 3 miles on the clock. It's my first manual, and I'm finally getting a hang of it and am starting to enjoy the car. And what a car! Too bad I still have nearly 800 miles left before break-in is over (haven't gotten a chance to drive/practice all that much) and many say Subaru boxers aren't fully loosened-up until 10,000 miles or more.
Still, Toyota's Lexus division and the Japanese-built cars which carry its badge will always be No. 1 in my heart and soul, and CL will always be the place I remember for truly getting me hooked on cars and the Internet. And it's all because of the people. This place is unlike any other.
Well, here she is...(pics were taken on different days, hence the difference in lighting, plates, etc.)

I love Subarus - congrats! Engines are basically indestructible, and yes, they do get better with age.

That is one hell of a sleeper!!!
"The 2004 Subaru Forester 2.5XT scats 0-to-60 in 5.3 seconds. "
" It rips off a quarter-mile in 13.8 seconds, an eyeblink slower than the almost-$90,000 Porsche Cayenne Turbo sport-utility. "
Welcome back!! What happened to the ES250

Ha
Careful ... the under-developed portions of the Hamlets are great places to pick up nails and other pointy objects in your tires
Trust me guys - it looks even better (and lower) in person.

Thanks guys,
Brendan, the ES250 is still around, now my sis will be driving it to highschool.
The Forry is a little too quiet, but I'm outta money right now. I really wanna slap a turbo-back on it, maybe as early as the end of this year.
Thankfully, all the Imp STi suspension bits bolt right on. But that will take even more money. Supposedly a rear STi sway and some new wheels/rubber are all that are needed to really transform this car. I'm thinkin' maybe some 16x8 Gram Lights to replace the stock 16x6.5. Ack, even MORE money!
Anyway, I'm glad to see all of you still around and doing well.
