AHAHAHA, not only has it lost any sort of intimidating presence previous generations have had, but Lexus got the jump on them with those headlights...LOL...Toyota spies own...

Dear Lord, in that actual photo on the right it couldn't possibly look any more like the previous-generation Toyota Avensis...What goes around comes around, I guess.

What seems to be the obsession with these triangular headlights that sweep way up the sides of the hood? I'm not talking just about this new S-Class, but all the other cars that have them as well. We first saw it on the Ford Focus several years ago, then the Toyota Celica, then the Camry and the ES300....now it seems like most of the industry is switching to them.....UGLY.

All I can say is that Mercedes seems to be going downhill from here. The 2000+ S class reliabilty is not that great. I agree with a lot of the members above: Camry/ES head+foglights, Ford Focus tail...wait did Mercedes merge with Chrysler or Ford ? Mercedes seems cheapened and plus somebody mentioned that their routine maintenance are not free anymore sometimes in the 2006. Don't know about the inside, but................another reason to stay with Lexus. Can't you see that he is being shot with all the bullet holes while trying to show the new design to the critics ?

New option: tow hitch???

As always Lexus was right on time ripping off Mercedes Benz designs before the next new Benz. Indeed Lexus spies own.

The black pics you posted is the W220. (with maybe W221 technology being tested) The first one is the one is the new S class and not the CLS!. Trust me I make pics like these for people, just check my gallery. It's LWB S class prototype/mule it was already testing long time ago, say about summer 2003, so these cars are not new, I even recognize the plate on it.
Here's the reals w221 during testing I think this is the early mule.

I think it may look a little like this.

Here is their current mule.

Here is the w220 at the same spot as the current mule.

I drive Benz style lol. See this is what I will be rambling about when I get into dashboard sizes.

w221 pics, early mule.

Notice the sheer size of these cars compared to the pics you posted and the w220 I posted. It's going to be huge.

The DASH THE DASH. The newer mules with interior pics taken!

Look what you posted as I said is the w220, close up look at it.

So you see? It's all very confusing but thats the w220 you posted. I posted up the early and later w221 which will be the true new S Class.

Again I need to ask.
When in Lexus' history did they ever "rip off" a MB design?
No Lexus model has ever bared the slightest resemblance
to a Mercedes. Lexus, in fact, is the one that usually creates
new design directions that influence others.
