Default Key for 2004 Audi A4

Do you know how much those keys for 2004 Audi A4 cost?
I lost my friends key and need to buy one for him.
It's one of those jack-knife-flip-out kind of key with remote door/trunk opener.

if you lost the whole fob, its pretty expensive. the key and the fob are two seperate pieces that can be changed out if you need a new fob, but not a new key. if you need both of those, and have it reprogrammed to the car (about and hour shop time @ $75 to $80 an hour) you are looking maybe $250-$300 otd. If you loose one, its ok, but both is where they kill you. They have to hook the machine up to the VAS 5051 scanner to encode the key. Only really takes about 15 min, but they have to charge for the whole hour.

Thanks for the reply.
Oh well.. there goes my 300 dollars down the drain. Well, I'm pretty sure my friend still has his spare key.
