whats the best way to break in a brand new motor?
hey guys, I have a brand new motor in my old SC and i am trying to figure out what is the best way to break in a new motor. My GTE block will have 0 miles on it when its installed. What is the best kind of driving that i can do to speed up the process, while still being gentle on the car. I want to make sure that everything gets seated well, and that there are little chances of anything going wrong. Thanks

this is what i did when i had a built motor put in my mustang I let it idle for 20-30 minutes then i drove it keeping it under 3000rpm's and i changed the oil every 50 miles three times in case of and debre {with cheap oil and filter } then be easy on it for at least 500 miles and everything should seat properly

From the Lexus Manual [BREAK IN PERIOD]
For the first 1000 miles or 1600 km
1. Do not drive over 88 km/h (55 mph)
2. Avoid Overrevving. Maintaining engine speed between 2000 and 4000 rpm.
3. Avoid full throttle starts.
4. Try to avoid hard stops during the first 300 km (200 miles)
5. Do not drive for a long time at any single speed, either fast or slow.

yeah yeah, im a baller what can i say.... haha this is what happens when you fk up your old motor and that is the only way to get your lexus back to running status.... I went to the local toyota dealer and got me a supra tt block, and they always have at least one in stock, so ... i bought it.
besides that, thanks for the replies, It seems as if everyone has their own way of breaking in a motor. Keep the replies coming because i need to find out which is the best of the best!

Aw man, after reading those posts on SF and that motorman site, i dont know what to do!!! crap, i geuss i gotta keep searching.
What part of it? The whole project or just the motor? because the bottom end and crap cost close to $4k with labor (i got quite the deal) but this whole project was a big money pit at just over $31k...
