BMW recalls some of their V8 and V12 cars
This is what i found from international BMW website:
http://www.bmw.com/generic/com/en/index.html
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BMW requests not to drive a limited number of new V8 and V12 cylinder cars any more.
Vehicles affected: cars first registered from May to July 2004.
Due to a temporary production fault of a supplier, deficient parts were supplied and installed in new 5, 6 and 7 Series and X5 models with V8 or V12 cylinder petrol engines (first registered between 13th May and 12th July 2004). The engines of these vehicles may cut off after a relative short running time.
This may lead to failure of the power steering assistance, as well as the brake booster following repeated operation of the brake. As a consequence, unexpected traffic situations including accidents may occur. The cause is a defective hardware of the engine control unit.
As a precautionary measure, BMW requests owners of these cars not to drive them any more and to contact a BMW dealer or the BMW hotline.
The telephone number of the BMW customer hotline in Germany is: 0800-088 77 22.
In all other markets, please contact your BMW dealer.

What's goinig on w/ bmw? It seems they are going downhill lately. I have a friend w/ a 2000 3 series w/ 20k and he traded his car in for a chevy truck because his bmw had too much problems. I feel really bad for bmw owners and whoever bought these bmw w/ these V8 or V12 engines. BMW is gonna lose alot of customers and it's definetely gonna hurt their sales.
