This should be the body for a prius.

No no no.... they should replace it with either the Crown Majesta, the Brevis, the Mark II, the Crown Athlete, the Crown Royal, or the Premio.

I didn't know about the Mk II until a friend brought it up in conversation - but now, having seen it, I'm equally desirous.

those crowns are pretty damn nice but i think they worry that ppl will stop buying lexus and buy the crowns...but i totally agree about trashing the celica and mrs those two cars OMG about time they dropped it..... bring back the supra .. im sorry but nissan has got the clear jump on toyota in the market for trucks(Titan) and sport cars(350z)
EDIT: i highly doubt they'll bring the supra back...japan new emission law is harsher i6 block cant pass it i believe.....so why bother building a car that wont be legal in its own home country, unless you put a v6 but then it wont be a supra at heart anymore

Man, this sucks. I have always like MR.TWO. never cared much for the Celica though. Man, I was thinking about getting a MR.TWO as a fun daily driver car in a couple of years....oh well.
i do hope for the resurrection of the supra.

Most europeans/US are taller than that, they should take that into consideration.

The Scion Tc makes the celica obsolete. You can get a supercharged Tc (moonroof, 17in wheels, etc) for about the price of a base celica. They have to be trying to phase it out. As for the MR2, I'm not sure...it's a pretty unique car. I think they need to add something new to it to make it stand out (more power like the mazdaspeed miata).

The tC entirely replaces the Celica, but the MR2 Spyder is one of a kind. Perhaps they simply want to completely move all youthful/sporty cars to the Scion brand (leaving the Toyota brand with an ever more stodgy and boring image ) and the MR2 will soon be resurrected as a Scion later (Scion tM maybe?).

Toyota is attempting to push the Scion tC as the replacement for Celica and MR2?
Can you imagine if Toyota had a modern day replacement for the AE86 rear-wheel drive Corolla?
