Default Cool chart on car compaines and who owns who

I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to read the chart... but it's pretty cool nonetheless

Missing is Hino and Scion owned by Toyota, Acura owned by Honda, and Infiniti by Nissan.

Yeah I noticed the Scion and Acura missing... my only guess it that this was made by someone in a European country where Acura and Scion are not sold, but Lexus is (hence Lexus being on the chart?)

I'm not sure....

Reasonable assumption. One can easily add them on the chart.

I'm pretty sure they are their own company, such as Toyota or BMW.

If I read it right it says GM owns 10% of Fiat and Fiat owns 5% of GM, yet it shows GM is 100% owned by GM. ???

Porsche is sooo in bed with VW it's not even funny. They could easily claim some sort of ownership. Remeber the days of Porsche+Audi?...Oh hellz yeah...That ____ runs deep, ____________.

OK, now I'm going to sleep.

Yeah I'm still confused on some aspects of this chart I think the 100% is referring to all the companies in the GM circle that don't have their own individual number. The whole 5% / 10% thing I am still trying to figure out.

Cool!! So Daimler Chrsler owns Mercedes 100% or just a portion? I always thought they only owned a portion. Well, that probably explains all the problems w/ mercedes then.

It looks as though GM & Fiat probably own the same amount of one another, and that the reason GM owns a larger part of Fiat percentage wise is because Fiat is a smaller company overall. Could be wrong, but that's my guess. And yes it is foreign, I don't know that it's European, but it probably is, considering that it's written in English. The numbers are written as 25,4 instead of 25.4. Most countries outside of the US use "," to mark the decimal place instead of ".".

There was once a day when VW and Porsche were shown on the same show floor. Ferdinand Porsche designed the VW for Hitler (but he did not own the company), then once the company became huge the smaller Porsche company made a deal to be sold along side VW's to increase their exposure.

VW was designed by Hitlers request for a small carmaker so he could have good war vehicles to ride in. Once the company flourished Porsche continued to update the VW design until it was going strong on it's own.
