LMAO...this name is toooo funny!!!
But it's quite logical at the same time when you think about it. Isn't this car gonna be a s*x machine? Yup, it is!!
And the fact it sounds like Prius is quite appropriate too since it's a hybrid at heart.

I have to agree that the pronounciation of the word "Priapus" itself doesn't sound nearly as cool as the word "Volta".
For those who know what the word means, however, it can work like, when you invite a girl to see your car, and she asks, "wow cooool car...what is it called?", and you say, "the Priapus, and that's who I am."

for Toyota giving this awesome concept a go.

will be available to consumers in Germany by Christmas 2004, and the U.S. three months later.
And wow...Christmas 2004...the car must be in production already...that is one fast release, unlike many other concept cars!!!!

IMO the reason they probably don't want to announce it is because they don't want it to bite into the sales (and dealer markup) of the Prius.

Well, Germany is their TTE/F1 base, so it does seem more plausible now...But wow, THIS YEAR?

I'm not getting my hope up, just to have them crushed...Toyota's been good at that lately...
