Well... just traded her in.
Hey CL,
Just dropped my 96 SC300 off at the Nissan dealership and brought home my new (to me) 2003 Nissan Maxima SE.
It's black/black, 6-speed, 3.5L V-6 with 255 HP, and it's got a bunch of cool little gadgets like heated steering wheel, Bose audio, yada yada.
Just wanted to say that you guys are awesome, and I wish there was something half as good as this site for the Nissan world (I've looked... they just don't compare).
Later,
Shawn

Thanks for all the comments.
I'll post some pics up in a day or two. This is my first FWD car, and it does have a way different feel to it. It is definitely fun to drive, though.
The sales manager at the Nissan dealership personally bought my car as soon as I dropped it off. It already is getting new leather, paint job, re-carpeting (not that it needed it). I was a little sad when I saw it all cleaned up today, but I'll get over it.

Oh, I love Lexus. I just don't have enough money to make my car perform and look as good as this particular Nissan that comes standard with most of the gadgets I was trying to put on my SC.
Then that whole thing about spending 15,000 dollars into a car that is worth about 6,000 dollars doesn't make the wife too happy.
But I gotta say, short of dropping in the getrag 6-speed and the GTE engine, these little Maxima's and other cars made today come with WAY more power, acceleration and fun factor than the Lexus's of the 90's.
What do I miss the most? The steering wheel that comes down and out at you as you put the key in the ignition, the passenger seat that motors forward when you prop it up, and I didn't realize it until now, but the handling going around turns at high speed is darn good on the SC's.
Here's a pic of a similar car to mine (except mines black w/ black leather interior, 6 speed, and no bra)

2003 Max is a damn fine car, even with IRL and FWD. Great car. Better than the 2004 fake GS Maxima. Fast and swift, great interior, good space, standard HIDs and THEY CAN BE MODDED!!
Your Maxima=built in Japan where they should be built
04 Maxima=built down the street from OLT
Congrats, don't be a stranger.
