Driving a car that is a complete piece of crap is great... No one looks at you, you don't have to worry about where you park or people breaking into it.... And if it traps higher than your typical low 13 second wrx or stock ws-6 trans am it's all the better

Best of luck w/ the purchase if you decide to go ahead with it.

If you just want to mess around with it at the track - maybe show those annoying Eclipse guys what the deal is - more power to you. But if you plan on driving this thing every day ... I urge you to reconsider.

You should see what we use to daily when I lived in Springfield... A beat up 87 toyota carbed pickup with 415k miles on it. It looked 100x worse than this car, had more than 4x the mileage, and was still more reliable than any of the Lexus' I have owned!
I probably won't even take it to the track.. That is what the lexus is for once I get a good tranny in it.
You just gotta have faith Driving REAL beaters for daily drivers is honestly a very good and stress free experience.

These cars were exactly what they looked like....cheap, economical, no-nonsense commuters that did not even pretend to be sports cars or family haulers. They were fairly reliable (being a Mazda platform) but not quite to Toyota or Honda standards.

Ahhh, man what a sleeper. Reminds me of that minivan that pulled on a Z/28 in the 1/4.
A friend of mine used to drive the wheels off of his, he was on the bigger side so it was more of go-kart for him and due to the large amount of weight being on one side of the car, he would rountinely lift one rear wheel going around some corners!!!!

This car gets 30 MPG in town beating on it or 40 MPG highway even with this motor swap and the boost
Also, the car weighs 1800lbs, and I only weigh 125 lbs, so even with me in it we are still talking about a sub 2k lbs sled

Dang Ethan, that thing is nuts. I think it must be the scale of the car, but the Nitrous tank looks more like a scuba tank!
BTW, the first manual transmission I ever drove was in one of these (stock of course) back in high school.
