Anyone noticed how the CL got airborne a few times in the vid and stays well planted to the ground? Those are some fine results of the AMG-tuned suspension

that's one cool video, the driver drives very well.

but couple of things i don't understand. it shows the AMG engine, no doubt. however, why only dual taillights? i thought the cl55 has quad pipes? at least the one i see here every day is like that.

moreover, cl55 and it has 0-60 at 6secs?! isn't that kinda bad?

but it's cool to see the cl55 beating the cl600

 

I believe all pre-'03 CL coupes have the dual exhaust pipes. The pic below is of a 2002 CL55 AMG.

 

More like 4.3 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 12.4@114.5 (according to my Motor Trend sitting next to me). . . Not too shabby!

 

They completely re-did the engine in '03.

 

yeah though i think that's a bit on the fast side too. i always have the impression that the cl55 is about 4.6 to 4.7

 

Mostly CL55 owners who took their cars to track got the same times 4.5-4.7 0-60 and i think 12.6 or 7 - 13.3

so i guess i really doubt what they actually drove...... 6 seconds, that's so bad.... and can anyone confirm on the tail pipes?!

 

They tested pre 03 Cl55. You can see in the video different headlights, tails, front bumper, central console, brakes, speedo and exhaust.

Old, old video, it's still nice to see 4000lb going sideways.

 

oh so the pre03 only had dual pipes? that's no fun the new one looks so much better then
