Hate haters
What happened while shopping at a Safeway in Belmont a couple of weeks ago (click on othe pics to enlarge them) (the pic may not show it clearly, but the cut is deep enough to have reached the metal):
And now this, just when I was to go out and have some sunday afternoon fun in Berkeley (notice the cut on the sidewall shown near the bottom of the pic):
Is this really the price I have to pay for Lexus ownership? I'm losing faith in humanity...

Ouch, sorry to hear one of us from the ES family getting victimized by the world of hate Don't know how insurance can get involved with this, but good luck if you're going along that route.
Just to add a little bit to this topic, the same issue also applies to those who get parking lot dents. I have 3 of them on mine, and unfortunately I have to pay for someone else's stupidity

Insurance most definitely CAN get involved here, provided XeroKOOL has comprehensive on his policy and not just collision and liability. Minus the deductible, of course, he is due a AT LEAST a panel repaint and a new tire to match the other three, along with mounting and balancing.
(Maybe he can also talk the adjuster into covering a nice attack-trained German Shepard to stay with the car in the future when it is parked):

I also forgot to add that by law.....and this is the case, I believe, in all 50 states....a comprehensive claim alone CANNOT increase your premiums. A comprehensive policy covers things you can't control....things just like what that a - -hole did to his car.

Damn, really sorry to see that stuff. Jealousy is a b****.. Whoever did that knows you have a damn nice car and cant stand to see anyone who is doing well, then they try to bring you down to their level. Awful

Sorry to hear what happened. A friend of mine drove a really nice red S2000 and parked it at the mall while doing some shopping. After he came out, someone keyed his car on both sides!! He was so pissed off!!! Well, his insurance covered it so he has a new red paint job!!
It's the jealous people that does that to people"s car.

I know how you feel man
Since I got my ES, the back bumper has been hit in 3 seperate locations, stripping the paint off of it (2 of the chunks are very, very large), but luckily no dents occured.
However, the passenger side rear door got dented in as well as the wheel well right behind it... paint stripped on that as well. I just haven't posted pics of any of these on CL.
I have no clue how any of these got there... wasn't even there when they happened
Ever since I graduated High School, my car hasn't seen a single scratch.... coincidence?

coincidence?
Not necessarily a buddy of mine drove his M3 to HS, no problems.
A yr later takes it to college and it has been keyed countless times.
Another friend just got his CL-S keyed, right after he got it.
If you want to drive an expensive car to college, expect it will get keyed.
