Is it me or does this Buick look like a GS?

They copied some cues on the front, headlight pattern, lower front grill, grill somewhat, but I wouldnt really say it looks like a GS.. it just looks so much cheaper and the body shape is totally different.

well considering GM's automotive arm is over $100million in the red last quarter...not much thinking at all. S&P just downgraded them
Maybe the C6 Corvette will save the company, cause then everyone will realize GM builds competive cars.
GM tries desperately too run too many channels
In the end:
Chevy = too bland (Malibu)
Pontiac = too extreme (various junk on the roads, marketing dept thinks you can just label a car sporty...sorry but a sporty chassis has to be earned)
GTO = too bland
Buick = no longer elegant, no market, the Avalon will destroy them next
Olds = dead
Saturn = wtf???
Cadillac = enjoying sales thanks to the fact they are the only domestic company w/luxury cars...actually try to base everything on the exact same platform (CTS, STS, SRX ) maybe Lexus should combine the IS, GS, RX onto the same platform
At least the CTS-V is pretty cool
Cadillac actually has a huge rebate on the XLR to bring it down to SC430 price levels
All their interiors look the exact same, w/the same straight-edge, modular look
GM should stick to selling mediocre trucks/SUV's, and hope their owners are loyal enough to stay away from the all new Tundra.

The headlights are more or less a copy of the GS, but the oval grille is traditional Buick.
I have not seen this car first-hand or test-driven it, but the auto magazines say that the La Crosse interior is a major upgrade over previous Buicks with their cheap GM interiors.

When I read the thread title I knew exactly which car you were referring to because I thought the exact same thing as soon as I first set eyes on it.
It's not like it's a dead-ringer for the GS... but the headlights do seem similar for sure.
As far as similarity in profile/stance, and the lines of the body, it doesn't really look anything alike to me. The Altima does share some similarities though... then again the GS came out in 98, and the Altima in 02, so it's pretty obvious who copied who.

Yeah, I'd say it's mostly cues. Much like the last generation Lumina/Monte Carlo and the SC.
Most notably the headlight shape, and the sucked-in front to back belt line on a coupe. Again, just some cues, but overall a butt ugly execution. Worlds apart as there is no comparision.

it is just you.
naturally many members will say they copied Lexus...yet whenever someone says Lexus copies another car company the members here say they don't (when it is obvious Lexus takes cues from toher brands) nd complain to those who do. I love that mentality.
