BMW interiors look so outdated it's a joke.

Well, I do like the profile of the new 3.

But I don't like the front lights much at all, especially dead-on front.

And the rear lights look quite boring for a $40k+ car.

And that interior looks downmarket to me, no warmth at all.

Having said that though, it looks better than the 5 and 7 series, IMO. And the 6 looks decent in person, but still funky from various angles.

The Bangled look is just not right. It should have been axed before it ever left the drawing board. It's not only Bangle's fault, it's all those that approved it.

But having driven a 2003 540i sport for 6 months, I can truly say that nothing drives like a BMW. It has such great balance, soaks up bumps, yet also carves up mountain roads with precision and confidence. We have to mod our Lexuses, Benzes and Caddies to acheive such a great balance. BMW often gets it right right off the showroom floor. That says alot. The BMW DNA is still hard to copy (but the Infinity G35 did a laudable job trying to copy, even though I think the car is kinda ugly).

In the end, I'd still take a BMW over most other cars if they could increase their overall quality. I chose my Lexus over the BMW simply because BMWs are quite finnicky, especially if they accumulate loads of miles. They are built tough, but require far more maintenance. And everything is so damn expensive in regards to parts.

Lexus/Toyotas are just built to last without a lot of drama. For a high-mileage daily driver, the Lex reigns surpreme.
