2007 Infiniti SKYLINE GT-R Midsize Coupe/Hatchback
#16
the skyline and GT-R are two separate things..... skylines come in many trims in japan.... but when motorex started importing them, they only imported the upper end ones because those are the only onws worth importing.. this is why the G35 wears the skyline badge in japan... this does not mean that the R35 will be a G35.... it will likely share the same chassis... if im not mistaken, this is hte concept that theyre talking about....

Just to clear things up, the 350z, and g35 are both using the FM platform. In japan, the Z is called a fairlady Z, and the g35 is the nissan skyline 350gt. It would make sense for the upcoming GT-R to be similar to the g35 (skyline) since they are both skylines. By 2007, it will be the end of the current g35's body style and so nissan will release the new redesigned skyline 350gt and skyline gt-r here as an infiniti g35 and and a g35 GT-R(or at least thats what i heard it will be called here) The GT-R is rumored to receive 450hp twin turbo AWD. With suspension and chassis designed by lotus and the engine put together by some other european company.

Well, a couple yrs back Motorex was transforming Maximas into R33s. And I have a magazine to prove it. Since with just a body kit and few other things, the 2 generations old Maxima looked like a Skyline, I started to think that its pretty much the same chasis. I am going to email Motorex to find out if I am right or wrong. I still think I'm partly right, because you CAN make an old Maxima look like a R33.

Truth of the matter is, cars like the Skyline and the Supra are built PURELY to compete in the JGTC. They were never based of any other car and are not meant to be. The reason why they were on the street in the first place was because JGTC requirements force them to make street-compliance cars. Then afterwards, due to the hugely popular following, they decided to continue production for their street versions, while still retaining the monstrous RB26DETT and the 2JZ-GTE powerplants (albeit very much tuned down).
