2006 Ferrari 600 Maranello Spy Shots
A replacement in the works for the 575M.
by Hans Lehmann/Hidden Image (2004-11-01)
Ferrari is about to develop a successor to the current 575 Maranello, which has been on the market since 1996 (originally as the 550 Maranello).
A prototype mule is currently being tested in and around Ferrari's hometown of Maranello, as can be seen in these photos. Looking more closely at the test car, which has a cut-down body of a 612 Scaglietti, the wheelbase is considerably shorter.
According to rumors, the name of the new model could be 600 Maranello, and it is expected in 2006. The new car will remain a two-seater powered by a front-mounted, 6.0-liter V-12.

It looks alright. Atleast the rear is similar to the 575M. As for the 430 that thing looks like a downsized Enzo. I think it looks good, but the fact that they made it look like an Enzo just doesn't work for me.

This is only a test mule and glad that it is. They'd better get this right . The 550/575 Maranello happens to be my most favorite car on the planet. It's the car I day dream about....night dream too!
Classic lines, long sloping hood, short rear deck, baseball glove leather and all that power! I'm going to sleep and hope I dream about it again.
Actually, except for the power and leather, my description sounds a lot like the SC300/400! I knew it was something I liked about that car!
