Looks like it's going to be too much of a hassle / cost to get a lawyer and go the legal route..
Down with shady dealerships!
This will probably spread like wildfire over the internet just like that EVO auction... the more bad press created for this dealership the better.
Hi I'm new here to NASIOC and was writing in hopes of some advice from the gentleman who had the battle before with ebay on his car.
I have recently won an auction on ebay for a G35 Coupe
from Towbin Infiniti in Las Vegas, Nevada.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...item=2498214998
I won the car for $23600 and was getting ready to have my financing done when the salesman told me he would not sell for that price and refused the ebay auction.
I don't know what to do now and was hoping that the last guy could give me some advice. Please e-mail me at civic4982@hotmail.com or post here any advice you may have. Thank you kindly in advance. I really hope that this ordeal isn't as drawn out as his became.

chances are hes not going to get anywhere. It is a legal contract for him to bid on it, but there doesnt say anything that he has to sell it. Itll just look bad upon the dealer selling it. sucks though...

Ebay is good for getting good deals, but it is very risky, Truth be told, nobody has to buy anythign they bid for and nobody has to sell anthing they put up on auction. Ebay does not care what is sold or who is scamming. Dealers will not go after bidders accross the country when they don't buy the car and bidders rarely will go after dealers and get anywhere.
Ebay themselves can't do anything about scammers until the rip someone off. Then they will just ban the user. I know an owner of an NSX who someone else was scamming the public and posted his car and VIN number on ebay for sale. He contacted Ebay, the local Police, FBI, and nobody could or would do anything unless the winning bidder sent the scammer money and reported the scam to them. It didn't matter if the true owner of the car made the complaint. The auction was allowed to stay up since and furtunately nobody was dump enough to fall for the scam. What that means is you simply take your changes on ebay. Sometimes you get a good deal, sometimes you might get a bad deal.

Thanks, O. But since I only want it for Halo 2, I don't want to pay for unneccesary games (I can pick up a brand new XBOX for 150 at the store). I just nabbed one for 145 on eBay which includes an extra controller and DVD package

UPDATE:
The car I won is now sold to someone else and the dealership had the audacity to call me and tell me they had another car if I was interested but not at that price.
