i never understood the porche lineup. most of them are priced around $90k, right? i remember the turbo is 13K. why did u make the appointment of test drving the S but not any other model? there must be something really special about that car. is it cause it just got remodeled??

Brand new design and there are only two models available right now. Carerra and Carerra S .

Based on my drive in the Carerra S, I wonder what is the point of the Turbo model that will be released next year.........

Bragging rights. Actually, if you go to the track a turbo will be a huge advantage.

A lot, primarily because it uses a lot of oil - it is a dry sump lubrication engine. Which means the oil never drains to the pan when it is turned off. The engine is completely submerged in oil all the time which is why it needs a lot of oil.

Hameed, I bet you had the time of your life!! CL member gave me a ride in his 02 Turbo last year, and I can still remember that feeling!! (He is pushing approx 650hp!)

There is nothing like a P-car, they are just engineered in a different manner! Glad you enjoyed yourself

You are obviously not a Porsche fan!!! The Porsche exhaust is music to lovers of Porsches!

It is one of the reasons why Porsche engines last forever - they don't encounter any wear on start up like every other car on the road.

The part that boggled my mind about the whole experience was the fact that the salesguy drove the car insanely fast in heavy pouring rain and it did not seem to matter one bit to the car! It was just so fast and stable.

911S has the turbo look wide-body. Sales have been slow out the gate.

when i looked at a turbo in 2002 the dealer told me that the oil had to be changed once every 12,000 to 15,000 miles to he told me seasonally that would be once a year...so whatever it is it wont be that much even if its 350.00 for it....hehe

That beater noise you hear is just how the porsche sounds...it makes that funny whirrring sound when it first starts moving...then believe it or not it gets quieter as it goes faster....
