I personally don't care if a Vette whips it a$$! It's not always about performance for me. The overall package is waaaaay more important and the 997 wins in my book in those respects.
After all a Subaru WRX Impreza would whip my GS's a$$ - but would I take that car over mine? No waaaay!

I am biased towards the 997 and would take the 997 anyday! That's just me.

If it's given to me as a gift, I'll take the 997 Porsche over the Corvette as well
Afterall it's a Porsche, & I also trust Porsche quality more.
