To Buy or to Lease ?...That is the question.

There is nothing necessarily wrong with leasing a used car, talgrl....in fact, some manufacturers, as I stated earlier, offer those programs now. But again...there are advantages and disadvantages, and you have to weigh those carefully. Leasing a used car will usually involve lower monthly payments than with a new car because a car depreciates much less in years 4-6 of it's life than it it does in the first three. Wear-and-tear clauses may be a little more permissive because the car has more accumulated miles and wear on it. Demand for leases on used cars is usually less than on new ones because you don't have so many potential people with new-car fever trying to play Keep-up-with-the-Joneses....this can allow an even better deal.
But, as always....there are disadvantages as well. By the time a car is 3-6 years old, you can start running into things like new tires, brake jobs, seal and gasket leaks, headlight replacements (and believe me, xenon / HID's can be EXPENSIVE), timing belt replacements, major service like flushes / fluid replacements, etc..... and all this on top of the lease payment. Some things may be still be covered by the car's warranty...some things not. A reputable dealer will repair and replace worn-out items on a Certified Used Car on the lot for sale or lease, ( remember that many dealer used cars are actually returned 2-4 year leases) but not all manufacturers have that type of program for certifying used cars.
So....like leasing a new car, leasing a used one has advantages and pitfalls too.
