I don't know about the 4.7L V8 though. They just squeezed another 40HP (Sequoia/Tundra) out of it without going for more cubes, so maybe they will be able to get another competitive figure out of 4.7 Litres with the new LX replacement? Who knows.

So we will have of 5 different trims for new GS in future:
GS300 = 245hp
GS300 AWD = 245hp
GS350 = 280hp
GS450h = 280hp(3.5l) + 40hp(Elec. motor) Probably
GS460 = This just doesn't sound right but if it comes out I guess it will host 340+ ponies

From my understanding the 3.5 liter Lexus will have 300+hp

I'm really beginning to wonder what Lexus will do with the new IS. On one hand I have heard 2.5L V6 with ~215HP and an upperlevel 3.5L V6 with ~285HP. To me, this seems like the most logical way to lay things out, but with a top end "GT" V8 model on top of that. On the otherhand I have heard to expect a 2.5L V6 with ~265HP and a 3.5L V6 with ~320HP.
265HP from 2.5L seems unlikely to me, especially when they're using 3.0L to get 245HP. I don't know though, anything can happen I suppose.

From what we heard directly from Ralph Pisco from CL's direct Lexus Marketing contact, the next IS will have the 2.5 and the 3.5 variant. The 3.5 is supposed to have over 300 hp. That is astounding as the legendary MKIV 2JZ-GTE pumped out 320 hp w/twin turbos. Same was said from Chuck Goldsboro (Team Lexus Owner/Driver) as he briefed us at the Lexus Grand Am Champions weekend event @ CA speedway at the end of October. We will have to cross our fingers, wait and see at this point.
