In all honesty, I believe some of them, but the rest I feel they just registered to keep the public thinking. Bascially as a decoy. For example, GS460 and JX470, and Audi with all the Q and SQ lettering.

I guess that's possible, but a while back Audi was mentioning something about changing their nomenclature anyways. I don't think I ever read anything official, but I did read that somewhere. I also suppose it's possible that they could have registered "GS460" and "JX470" just to keep the public guessing but at the same time, how many people will see this information? A few hundred across the whole internet? Why would they go to that trouble to just keep a few hundred people's interest?

With the "450" designation, it really could either be a V8 or a V6. I'm betting it will be a V6 though, much like how we will have the RX330 and RX400h. I'm not sure, just a guess.

yup i agree, in the rx400h you don't see the 400 v8 in it more like i would guess it's 350 engine with a hybrid

Yes, you are very correct with that. Many people wouldnt see this information and others really wouldnt care. But knowing how secretive Toyota/Lexus is I believe that it is a possibility that they would do such a thing. Plus they have billions to throw away on little things like this. But when you think about it, look how fast that 2006 Avalon stuff spread around. A few drawings, one ACTUAL photo, and a complete list of features, and a heck load of stuff that most dont care about spread around the internet like wildfire.(Well thats a lot more than model designation, but there is a possiblity) From Clublexus, Caranddriver, GMinsidenews, Maxima.org, Autoweek, etc etc. And that was only a weekend.

I think we both have valid points, but Toyota only knows the answer to this for now.

agree with that too. I think they will be saving the V8 hybrid for the LS class.

In my opinon this is very true of what is to come. It is the reason why they didn't make any monsterous changes comnig up soon, because they are too busy concentrating on the next wave of heavy hitters.

I agree with you magneto, only Toyota has the final answer. The truth of the matter is that just the thought that a 4.6L 3XXhp GS could be in the future will torment me until I get official confirmation (which could be a year or more away).

I stated Gs460 because it sounds pretty wierd. I dont know why it does, but anything is possible with Lexus. The JX470 sounds way off because I thought the 4.7L engine is about to be phased out in 2006-7 when the new Tundra and spin-offs are released.

I heard about the Q lettering also with Audi. But I only thought that it was suppose to be for there truck? But why should they change the lettering? A, S, and RS work fine right now. And I dont know why, but everytime I see that big Q I think of the Queen Mary ship. I dont know why, but I do.
