2 cars 2 totally different executions because of the philosophies behind each car.. The SC was built to be the finest coupe in the world and was. It was modeled in clay totally. It is timeless and gorgous to this day. A huge I-6 or V-8.
The RX-8 is very eye-catching. I like it, it looks like nothing else on the road. THe Renesis engine is the size of your head. The car is light and agile (and has whooped the G35 and 350Z, Mustang and others in every comparison).

SC 300/400
Supra
RX-7
3000GT
300ZX
NSX
I cannot find much flaws with any of these cars. Its hard to chose a fav, the 3000GT is probably my least fav. Compared to todays chunky coupes or huge wheel arch cars with huge doors/sides and little windows. The G35c is probably the only new coupe timeless right now and that car still has some angles I am not fond of. Even the BMWs, the old 8 series looks graceful and the new 6 looks ridiculous. Age will not be kind to it.
Computers influence too much and it seems designers are more incliined to copy than be different.

I'd personally vote for the SC, but I'm guessing one of the factors is the age of the cars. RX-8 is a current (and still fairly new) car that may convey a better sense of market 'currency'.
Don't agree with it, but it happens.

There's no question about the SC's superiority in design. I think the guy chose the RX-8 because it's a new and current car. Companies don't often use older out of production cars to showcase wheels ect.

Ah, now if we compare the SC to the RX-7, then I have to actually think about it...

You're right, the guy did mention that my car looked great for an older car. I pointed out that the sc300/400 was the same basic style up to 2000. To him that's older.
You're also right they use only new models to showcase the wheels.
I figured that out by looking at the website. Hey, it wasn't my idea to take the pics for their site. The head guy is the one who told this kid to do it. The kid decided not to, I just wanted to know why they had me excited about it then not do it. I would certainly rather see our car on the site than a new RX8 or Civic. After having bought 10 sets of wheels, many sets of tires and countless referrals...I should get some props from them.

The RX8 looks like they sat 100 people age 16-25 in a room and said:
"Tell us what cars you like"
Then made a huge list of styling pieces everyone liked and came up with the RX8. As cars get uglier and uglier people will begin to realize that AGE MEANS NOTHING! The SC looks as good now as it did in 15 years ago and it will look just as good in 15 more. Sadly, the same can not be said about the RX8, nor most of the cars these companies are coming out with.

The SC is classy, timeless and one of the finest vehicles developed. The RX8 is flashy (to the point of being gaudy), trendy and more sporty.
When you're selling wheels, the RX 8 is going to sell more. Most people who buy after market wheels are going to identify with the 8 way more than the SC.

At first, I thought the RX-8 was cool looking, until I saw how much the front fenders protrude out from the rear 1/4 angle. The car doesn't flow well at all and everytime I keep looking at it, it gets uglier.
With my SC, I can't imagine what I would be driving if this car wasn't created.
