Chrysler 300C, why buy any other American sedan?

I agree - but Bit, next time you're out - go around to the boot and check out the lid. Every five-hundred I've encountered so far has major fitment issues back there. Honestly - higher tolerences for panels than on my Sentra.
Otherwise - I'm impressed with the Five-Hundred.
The Chrysler 300's interior is just unacceptable given the relatively high price and the fact that the car is built on an existing platform (previous generation E-class).
The STS is just pure sex - and I mean that; an absolutely phenomenal vehicle. If you haven't witnessed one first-hand - go have a look.
If I had ~ $60 grand just sitting around - I'd be all over the STS. Best American sedan - EVER (in my book).

I WOULD get a CTS-V before the 300C. Now would I get the CTS-V instead of the 300C SRT-8. Not sure.
I am not convincing anyone to buy this car. Of course the interior is avg. Look who makes it. But for the price, its not that bad. No worse than some other cars I won't name.

I test drove the 300 (with illusions or delusions of buying a nice second car on the cheap) and I hated it! The interior is about as cheap as it comes. The leather (I guess) feels like hard plastic, the wood is an absolute joke and interior space was not great. We won't even talk about the storied Chrysler "reliability". If you are "upgrading" from a Ford, maybe this is a great car. But IMHO, the American car company has blown it again. This car is hot now....but think, so was the PT Cruiser. Having owned aMercedes, BMW, Lexus and Toyota SUVs, this car is terrible. The only model you can stomach is the 300C and that pushs $40K (roughly $38,500). And at that price, you can get a real car. If this stayed under $30K, maybe it really should be the Car of the Year. But in its current price range, it's a pretender AT BEST. I wouldn't get the groceries in this car.
And one question - how can one company consistently build a car with a million blind spots and consumers still buy it? I sat in the Crossfire (the other Mercedes wanna-be) and I wouldn't be able to see a semi if it was in the passenger seat.
Funny side note: when I am in Vegas, I laugh when I see that this car is a taxi cab there. Check it out next time you're there. That is a sign of a really great car I guess. The Ford Taurus has done well in that market. :-)

Wow, looking at the posts it seems most here are very educated on cars. I do find that 300C owners (I'm over there too) could not tell real wood from plastic and quite frankly leather from cloth. Seems many here can tell the small things that make, a Lexus, well a Lexus.
