Default Driving Schools

So Christmas is coming up and the only thing I asked for was a chance to go to a professional driving school. I've heard of Skip Barber and I've been shown a place called Prodrive as well but I'm just curious to hear if anyone has any experience with a driving school on the West Coast that they could reccomend. I'm not going to necessarily go to the school this Christmas break but any place you guys can reccomend would be awesome and I'll make sure to post up a write up and pics when I'm all done!

Here's something the East Coast doesn't have...

Pricy but he told me it was a kick in the pants experience that was well worth it.

Sheesh, you weren't kidding about the price! Then again, it is a Porsche program. Don't know if the parents are gonna go for that one.

This would be a hard one due to the travel expenses as well. I've browsed some of the other schools and while the class and instruction are nice, the cars used don't warm me over. Except for Porsche. My wish would be for Lexus to have a similar program.

That's what Leh Keen AKA "The Kid" did. I talked to him about his start in racing.
He had no professional experience before he went to one of those Porsche schools. No go-karting... nothing. They rate you on a 1-4 level. 1 = beginner, 4 = instructor level... He showed up a 1 (obviously) but had impressed them so much that they moved him up to a 3 in one day. The next day, he came back and they bumped him up to a Level 4. He told me that what got him started in a career of racing is after the second day, the head Porsche instructor told his dad that Leh had the most natural driving talent that he had ever seen in his 25 years of instructing... and so goes the story of "the kid." I think he's 20 right now and he's driving a Porsche GT3 Cup car in races. Check out IMV Films video of him. It's really good.
Peace,
Dix

I went to Skip Barber at Laguna Seca. It was the BEST TIME EVER. We went to the three day race school. The course was increadible and the cars were a blast. Dad and I are going again this year.

Ryan

Also, don't waste your time on the 1 day...not enough driving. 3 day or bust!
