Watch this: Greatest racing on earth
Even if you've seen this clip before, it's hard to get enough. Too bad they don't show it in the US, although they just held the exhibition race a week ago in Cali.
I think JGTC makes every single other racing series on earth look boring and dull. It just doesn't get any better than this:

Damn man, I've heard a lot about the JGTC but have never seen it before. A few things though, how do the Mosler and Viper end up in the GT300 class when they have 450 and 500hp respectively? Also, it's great to see such a diversity of cars on there. Mid engine, front engine, rear engine, rear drive (I'm assuming the Impreza remains AWD and the Celica remains FWD...?) I really hope they bring this to the US and that there's some way I can watch a race.

You're closer to CA than I am, so you might have an easier time catching it.
As for the higher HP cars in a lower class, all I can think is that maybe they're detuned or something...I'd like to know more about this myself...
EDIT: I did some poking around...The Vipers do indeed run with the V10s, so I'm guessing they're really detuned/big restrictors. But I also found out that the 300-class cars have anywhere between 300-400HP.
Also, only the 500-class cars are factory-backed. The 300-class cars are private entries. The 500-class Supras run with the 3UZ-FE engine, not the 2JZ.

That's awesome.
I remember either reading or watching something about JGTC recently. I think it was from a video on rotary engines I rented.
But man, it looks exciting. It seems like accidents are bound to happen when you put so many high powered cars together in such a tight course.

the reason for running in the GT300 class is for being more compettetive with a lower budget, alot of the teams have big factory backed teams in the GT500
so running in the 300 class would help make you more competitive
