Default 2004 EVO Car of the Year= Porsche 911 S

It won the CAR magazine Performance car of the year earlier. The 911 has won this award 5 out of a possible 7 times. The new 911 is just getting positive and rave reviews all over. I haven't read hardly anything bad about it.

Thumbs up

Obviously there's probably a lot of bias just as a result of it being THE 911, but it would be an occasion for great sadness if Stuttgart ever produced a crappy Carrera.

Who knows how long the 911 will remain a pure sports car? I remember Top Gear saying the 997 is stellar, but doesn't have quite the same feel as the previous Porsches. I wonder what future generations will bring as consumers demand more and more crap...I mean the vast majority of Porsches are sold with Tiptronic, so God only knows...

Maybe these really are the glory days for German sport. We all know what happened to the 5-Series...

My brother and i went for a test drive. He liked it so much he ordered a 997 C4S, i thought it definitely does Porsche proud and is an excellent sports car, the gears are smooth and handling is superb.....though i still think the Boxster is the best handling Porsche

And i think another reason why such a fuss is made is that 911s only come out every 8 years or so, that leaves plenty of time for hype and anticipation to cultivate a legendary status for Porsche's backbone.

I actually meant the Carrera 4 He's a patient man and he's willing to wait almost a year i believe for the all wheel drive Carrera. He's had an 993 C4S and he loved that, and he's thinking if he gives it a while any bugs that the 997 might have will be fixed and by that time he'd also be ready to trade in his current squeeze, a 2001 BMW 330.

Kinda makes me wish i was doing something with my life

haha, the M coupe is just about the ugliest car i've ever seen, so i cant say i've had the displeasure to drive one. Infact i was never a fan of the Z3 either. Alot of people disagree with me, but i really do think the Boxster S was a great Porsche as far as the drivetrain and handling were concerned. Are we speaking the manuals or the auto? never driven the automatic.
