I got a Camry, RX300 and ES330 once and usually an IS300 on other occasions from Servco Lexus Maui. Better than no car at all! AND you don't have to fill up the tank!

You are lucky. When I got those rental cars from Servco Honolulu they told my I had to return the car with the same amount of gas that the car had when they gave it to me. I never tried to return it without matching the gas so I really don't know if they would actually charge me for the gas or not.

I've usually been given an ES or RX. If you make your appointment ahead of time, you can sometimes requests a model, no guarantee though. That's what I've done the lask couple times.

As for gas consumption, that depends on the dealership. I usually fill up to where it was when I got it...this just "feels right to me". The fine print in the contract is that it specifies that the vehicle is to be returned with the same amount of gas as it left the lot.

I really can't understand where all these people come out saying that an ES is simply an over-priced camry.......has anyone who feels this way ever driven both or what? Seriously! I have a 99 ES, and over the summer for one reason or another I was driving my friends 98 Camry XLE or whatever the loaded one is called. The differences are night and day. I could care less if they share 80% of their parts, until you driven both of them, you really have no basis for comparison. The 20% parts variation is huge, as it comes in all the key areas. A better suspension system gives it the cushier "lexus feel", the insulation makes the cabin as quite as hell, and just the general fit and finish of the the ES puts it far and beyond the reaches of the camry. It's not like the ES is the only lexus the shares parts with a totota...you people are ****ing ridiculous. Drive them both and get back to me.....

As for this thread, I've been given a camry once from a dealer.......not impressed at all!!! You buy a Lexus, they should give you a lexus, its that simple. It's not as though they have a shortage of them!

Our dealership loans us brand spankin new camry every time. i'm guessin this is because he owns a toyota/lexus dealership. it would be nice to recieve a rx330 once in a while to see what the hype is all about.

i would take a 5 speed focus ZX3 over an Auto camry any day of the week. they are fun little cars.

when i took my car to JPI to have it serviced, i recieved a loaner camry, i didnt think it was all that bad and was pretty peppy for a 4 cylinder/auto. i se no problem with lexus giving out camry's as laoner cars. they are tough and can take the abuse fo many many miles, they have fewer luxuries, but that means fewer things to break.

I mostly get the ES / RX and IS also, but heard that you can also even get the LS....those run out tooo fast.

Yep, one time when I took in my S500, I got a crappy Cavalier. On their survery, I put down "I thought I would at least get a "C" class, not a "C"hevrolet

When my friend brought her 330i in , they gave her a 745 .
She ended up buying a 745 b/c she liked it so much. Wow! good marketing there
