Damn, quite the price and performance. Seems to really one-up the CTS-V in every aspect. One thing I have to wonder about though is its track ability and handling. The CTS-V has proven itself to owners as well as on sanctioned race events (forget league name) where it has kicked serious butt. However, I doubt most consumers will care about true track capabilities with a car this cheap and this well-performing.

Yeah....after the first owner has torn up the drivetrain doing burnouts.

Its funny, I was reading the C&D Article on these vehicle and they posted the same numbers in the same order. Seems to be quite a good value.

I think there is valid cause for these types of automotive excercises. The American automakers are finally stepping up to bat with decent products! Although some are more "fad" oriented than others (300C, CTS), they are nonetheless pretty solid products. I think its great for the auto consumer to have a vast choice of products to choose from, and the competition forces everyone to bring a better product to market.

When was the last time any Lexus, MB or BMW owner would even acknowlege a Chrysler product???!!!!!

Am I going to trade in the GS400 for a 300C tomorrow? NO. Can I appreciate the vehicle as a car lover? YES

Hot damn 40k? That is an incredible price. I thought it would be closer to 46k. Wow, Wow, wow.

I do have a magazine though, titled "The Big Rip-off" which faces the SRT-8 300C vs the Real DEAL Bentley. The article was hilarious.

it was the CTS-V that took 60-0 in 111ft, my mistake

GTO: around 34 K
CTS-V: 51,295
SRT-8: 43,295

Weight:
GTO: 3765
CTS-V: 3875
SRT-8: 4190

0-60 times:
GTO 5.0
SRT-8 4.9
CTS-V 4.7

Quarter mile:
GTO 13.3 @ 107.5
SRT-8 13.2 @ 108.1
CTS-V 13.1 @ 109.8

Braking 60-0:
GTO 121 ft
SRT-8 113 ft
CTS-V 111 ft

200 ft skidpad:
GTO 0.85g
SRT-8 0.88g
CTS-V 0.90g

600 ft slalom:
GTO 63.6 mph
CTS-V 66.8 mph
SRT-8 67.3 mph

to put things in perspective a Corvette C6 in 112
probably slaloms around the same as the SRT-8.

Thanks Lexusluver. How the HELL can the 2 door GTO be the slowest? Very sad to see this. Since it looks bland, no sense in buying it when you can have 2 more stand out sedans with much more room and looks.

What do you mean "Why"?

This car gives you the biggest bang for the buck both in performance and styling (for a sedan).
If this car came out of Germany, it would cost twice as much and be no more reliable.

This car is phenomenal.
