It's illegal in most places, of course, for a dealer to knowingly sell a car like this without revealing it to the buyer...see my earlier post. Unfortunately, it sometimes does happen, especially with a dishonest dealership...or even sometimes by an honest mistake or oversight. That is why it is important to inspect and test-drive a new car as thoroughly as it is a used one. I often go shopping with people and check vehicles out for them myself, especially if they are inexperienced.

Agreed. As can be inferred from the flood pics, look out for water/rust damage on the brakes, wheels, paint, exhaust, head/tailights, grille, under the hood, and if you go to the interior, water/moisture on the carpets. The dealer will certainly feel anxious and tense when you perform a full final inspection before taking delivery of the vehicle, but you have the right to do that

I think whoever took the pictures might have not focused right or something, because the first two pics look like photoshops to me

Pcture, If you might, a cartoon-like scenerio in which a lone technician is sitting at his post, and suddenly realizes the lot is flooding. He then runs outside frantically, and jumps in a car drives it to higher ground, and then sprints back to the lot to repeat the process with all the cars as the water rises.

Whew... too many simpsons/family guys/futuramas....
