Since you don't like the G35's interior (and I agree with you...I don't care for it either...up to this year), have you checked out the Mazda RX-8? I think you would be happier with the RX-8 than either the S2000 or the Miata. The RX-8 is a little more comfortable but still has a firm ride.....and the steering has to be experienced to be believed.....a good Mazda tradition.
Just make sure you keep extra cans of oil in the trunk....the Genesis rotary engine DOES use it.
You asked about the 2005 G35 interior....it HAS been improved, at least to some extent. There is a beautiful Rosewood trim package for the center console now. I looked at it at the Washington, DC Auto Show and the difference from last year's is striking.

Yes, the RX-8 interior is really great.
