A 5.0 mustang has 220 hp and weighs 3300lbs, runs mid 14s. even if this car weighed 3750lbs(very doubtfull) and had 260 hp it should run high 14 to low 15s. I wouldn't doubt if it was lightened up too, since he went through the trouble of all the motor work.

the only real way to find out would be to get more specs on car-abboushi?

Can you explain why a 1st gen sc400/gs400 with the same engine runs high 15's even though they weigh less than the truck posted in this thread?

Obviously, you are "verylost". Who told you a GS4 runs high 15s? A GS4 weighs almost 3800lbs and runs 14s no problem.

How do you know how much this car weighs or how much hp it has. You don't.

Late model Gs400's run low 14's, not the 1st gens. The late models have about 300 hp. The models I am referring to are from 91 to around 94.

I can tell that this is an earlier model 1uzfe due to the intake being on the side as opposed to the intake being on the front. If there intake were on the front, I'd agree that the car would run much faster.

Well, maybe that engine wasn't in a gs400 then, but the numbers you quoted was for a post 97 1uzfe. The engine shown in the picture is a pre 97 1uzfe. The older generation 1uzfe's (91 to 95) run low to high 15's in accordance to their years. 91's are slower than 95's. None of them ran low 14's as you would like to think.

Since the introduction of the 1uzfe to the latest incarnation of the 1uzfe, there is a huge difference in hp and performance. The truck shown in this thread has an early version of the 1uzfe.

Considering the lack of mods, this truck was built for reliability and durability, not for speed.

Well, I have no idea how much that car weights, but my 1UZ-FE in my 93 SC400 (which this engine looks like it is either from the early SC400 or LS400) only gets my car in the low 15s at best. I checked the weigth of the SC400 and it is closer to 3,700 lbs. So I would agree, if that cars weighs 3000lbs, which I doubt then it might get into the high 14s, but it is is 3500lbs or more than it probably is a mid 15 second car or worse. But then again, we don't really know what the gear ratios and final gear is on that car so it could be a 1/4 mile king with no top speed

Whether it runs 14s or 15s, it's definitely faster than it was stock and surprises many drivers

According to my research (http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/29819/), the sedan version of the '64-66 crown weighed a shade over 3000lb. I cant imagine that the wagon would weigh 500 pounds more!

And who knows what mods are under the covers, no doubt an aftermarket ECU etc...

stock sc400s weigh in around 3625lbs. and there were three versions of the engines. the obd1, obd2 and the vvti models. Jbrady posted somewhere that the first gens, obd1, (91-95 SC4s, 91-94 LS4s) are actually more like 230hp instead of 250hp based on dynos. The second gens, obd2, (96-97 SC4s, 95-97 LS4s) are more truly rated at 260hp from change in cams, compressions ratio, etc... and obviously the third gen, the vvti model... well speaks for itself.

sc400 weighs 3575lbs (all fluids topped off without driver) (edmunds.com)

in any case 92-94 sc400's only put out 250 crank power and about 180rwhp. (even if it was the 95+ pre VVTI engine it would only crank out 260 crank power) with that said, I have never seen a stock sc400's (92-96) run anything faster than 15.5 to 15.8 in the 1/4 mile

if the crown weighs 3000lbs it should get into the high 14's

also keep in mind wind drag.

many 4WD and AWD's have advantage of quicker launch but at higher speeds 2WD's are generally faster.

all in all it looks to be a clean swap
