Some of those % change from last January posted are wrong, for G35 sedan & SC430 for example, they're slightly down instead of slightly up . . .

I noticed that, the TL too and some other cars. My only guess was there were less selling days in January and automakers found a way to give themselves good press.

It has Lincoln sales although the heading says "Cadillac sales". Can you post the Caddy numbers? Thanks

January traditionally is not one of the better months to rack up high sales figures, for several reasons. People are paying off Christmas expenses and credit card debt. Bad weather and snow often make it hard for people to get to dealerships and shop. High heating and energy bills at home mean that money that otherwise would go for car payments is going into running the house instead. Some people get started with their taxes, which of course takes up time. Long hours of darkness make it difficult to inspect cars outdoors. And (wisely) some people, me included, just don't WANT to get a nice brand-new vehicle right in the middle of salt-and-sand and pothole season on the roads, for obvious reasons.

I think DSR = daily sales rate. 24 selling days in Jan 05 vs 26 in Jan 04. So, for example, if there were one day to sell in Feb 05 and they sold 1 car, versus 10 days to sell in Feb 04 and they sold 5 cars, the sales rate for Feb 05 would be 1/1 while sales rate for Feb 04 would be 5/10. Thus, the % change would be 100 ((1-.5)/.5).
