whats up guys

im tryin to help my friend install 2 12' JL subs in his thunderbird(yes i know its a ford)and a kenwood 600w amp...but we ran into some problems we cant figure out...please help if u can...this is what he told me to post:

Hey guys, were wiring my subs/amp and we wired the red power cord and the blue remote line (hooked blue wire to blue w/ white stripe wire--on the stereo) and ran the 2 wires up the drivers side of the car. We then wired the 2 RCA wires up the passenger side of the car. When we plug the RCA cords into the "CDC IN" cord coming out of the stereo, we get no feedback

But when we try to plug them into the preamp outputs, we DO get feedback in either the rear or the front of the car speakers....depends on which I plug into (when plugging into the CDC cords my subs donot work. Neither do they work when they are plugged into the PreAmps)


whats goin on ??? please help thanks

 

The rcas ARE supposed to be plugged into the preamp outputs coming out of the stereo. They then plug into the amp. How many pre amp outputs do you have out of the stereo 2 or 3? Are you trying to amp the front and rear speakers plus the sub?
