Modern engineering and electreonics has taken a lot of the instability out of rear-engine Porsche handing, but if you have the T/C and stability systems switched off and overdo it in a turn they can STILL swap ends on you, especially with worn tires.

Seeing this is painful.

 

The thing is with the CGT's for example that they come without any kind of electronic stability programs, same as GT2, GT3 or GT3RS and in order to be able to handle this car properly some drivers need to realise that the dinamics of rear-engine car vs front engine car is very different. Autocross is a very good possiblity for porsche owners to understand the limits of the car and its behaviour.

True, I don't doubt that this most likely happened in NY with his plate and all. I was only commenting on the "only in NY" concept with how cold and snowy that much of the country can get.

And ivesGS400 raises an excellent point, what if that isn't his house? Although I don't know if I'd be out with that car in that weather. That's why I also have an SUV, but living in South Fla. I don't have to worry about that too much, although we have other weather issues and my garage isn't really going to help me much if Andrew comes back for a repeat visit.
