Default How do u stop seatbelt beeping in Accord

Guys,

I want to stop a 2004 Accord from making the beeping noise if you don't put on the seatbelt within a certain amount of time.

I understand it is there for my own safety but nevertheless.

Is there something I can do to stop it from beeping?

Thx,
Jonny

If you unfortunately get t-boned and because you weren't wearing a seat belt you go through the windshield, you won't have the beep to worry about any longer.

Why don't you wear a seat belt?

I agree with bitkahuna, but if you MUST find an excuse for not wearing it, just fasten it and stuff it down the crack between the seat cushion and seat back.....far enough so that your butt or lower back doesn't press into it. Or, if you can't do that, just fasten it first and then get in and sit on top of the flat part. That should shut up both the light and the buzzer.

If you are injured, though, because you fly forward without any belt restraint and the airbag pops off right in your face and your nose ends up looking like Michael Jackson's, don't say we didn't warn you.

The reason I ask is because at night I sometimes put my son in the car to drive around my apt complex so he will fall asleep. I max out at about 10mph so flying through the windshield is not something that will happen. I can't go more than 10 feet without a speed bump etc.

It is not even in my car, it is just that I usually take my girls car with my son.

So does anyone know?

Jonny

ooh i can answer this...

1- remove the battery from the car. (causes other unmanageable problems)

2- use excessive force to remove the "boing" device. (causes a pissed off girlfriend who owns the car)

3- sell the car. (REALLY causes problems if done without permission)

4- click the seatbelt into place.

Isn't there a cheaper more economical way to put your son to sleep than driving around the parking lot? Who pays to fill up the gas tank?

Did you try what I suggested?.....bucking the belt and either sitting on the flat part or stuffing it down the crack between the seat cushion and back.

Hahaha, I am guessing you don't have kids!! It is the best trick in the book - and worth every penny in gas!!

Guys,

I was curious as to whether there was a fuse you could pull or some sensor you could trick. For all the effort to plug something in instead, I may as well just put the thing on!!

Thx anyway,

Jonny
