Lightbulb How Toyota/Lexus is doing in Taiwan

See a trend here? A year ago Lexus was still the No. 2 selling luxury brand and now it's winning by a landslide.

Note that those maintream brands such as Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan, etc. are domestically made in Taiwan and are therefore considered as domestic brands.
Also note that Lexus sold out (!!) of its 2004 quota allowed by the Taiwanese government in December and therefore the insane % increase in January you see.

Code:

I was just there visiting friends and relatives a few months ago.

I saw Harriers and IS200s running around all over the place! There were also quite a few LSs if you look out for them.

It cracked me up when I saw a friend using a Lexus lighter, ash tray and tissue box at his apt.

yeah it's nuts there.. once you pull into their campus.. your surrounded by toyotas, scions and lexus everywhere.. i'll try to take a pic of the parking lot if i have time.. I myself dont drive my GS, i drive my daily driver.. an S13.. I believe the reason why there are mainly toyota brand cars in the parking lot is because the compnay helps pay for them..

Oh, the new GS and a couple of other cars are actually in the lobby of my building..

Wow. i'm kinda surprised actually. just from looking i always thought BMW outsold lexus, at least in Taipei. i see a 5 or 3 series at every corner.
saw the 6 there on the road before it came out in the states. it was nice
