Joe Rogan - I don't really care that it probably won't even run half the time ... I'm just trying to get a RS4 in the garage ... this ain't nothing new.

TheCarConnection says 0-60 in 4.6 sec. 420hp V8 FSI at 8250rpm. 317lb-tq at 5500rpm of which 90 percent is available between 2250 and 7600 rpm. Weight is around 3600-3700 lbs.
This is a high revving engine. 4.6 sec still seems great to me.

Oh, i stand corrected... I thought I read in C&D or somewhere that the C55 had the same 0-60 that the C32 did... but yea, it would have a lot more of a punch regardless once it gets going.
So how much is this RS4 going to cost? I'm loving this car more and more everytime i look at it!

C55 and C32 both have about the same times...and actually I believe the C32 is 1/10th faster 0-60...it's at the top end that the C55 owns the C32...after 100 it will just continue to walk away.
The C55 does "feel" faster because of the torque though, but there are numerous examples on the MB boards where they have tracked both cars and the C32 has won in the 1/4. Actaully it is suprising, but having driven both cars, I can tell you that when sitting in the C55 you do feel like it is very fast...the V8 sound, high torque, stiffer suspension...all add to this feeling, but unfortunately it is not any faster on a straight away...on a road course, the C55 should win hands down though.
On the Audi...I would have to see it in person and take a test drive to really decide for myself...everything looks really good though (albiet the front end needs some fixing). I would take one in a second if it beats the price of a C55 at $60K and meets my expectations, but I highly doubt it on the first point...probably more in the $70K range.
Remember too that the C-class will be getting into something much faster as well...stay tuned.

The current S4 starts at something like $47K. So I doubt this one will start any higher than $55K.
Sure, 4.6s or 4.8s is extremely fast and respectable, but I'm surprised that the S4 still weighs so damn much. And I would never pick AWD over RWD. There is something extremely attractive about BMW especially, with the purity of the line 6 and RWD. Never would I choose the S4 over the M3 or C55 if I could afford it.
There is nothing about the S4 that makes me even a little bit passionate.
Yeah right. Like I'm going to make concessions or apologize for my bias. And don't insult me by saying there's more to life than 0-60. I used that point only to question the S4's weight.
And in case you haven't noticed, most people here go ape every time a new AMG is posted. Besides, how much history/clout does the "RS" badge have? It'll never mean the same thing as "AMG" or "M."
No doubt it is a great car but, again, it will be made irrelevant once the next AMG C and M3 are released.
I can't wait to see what Audi has up their sleeve with the next RS6...think it will be better than the new M5?
I used to have MAD love for Audi back in the day. No more.
That's about all I have to say as far as this thread goes.

This thing will have much better midrange as well. The C55 AMG has no better low end acceleration than the C32 due to added weight... but even with the 369hp or so, i don't see it being faster in the 0-200 than the RS4. The RS4 is also going to have tenacious grip in the corners. It may not have the steering feedback or driving dynamics the M3 does, but i do think it would easily keep up with it in the corners. All I'm trying to say is try to look past ur biases and give props where due... there's more to life than 0-60. And as much as I love AMG... exactly who is asking the questions they are answering.... while i think its fabulous, i doubt that many people were begging mercedes for years and years to build an S-class sedan with 600+ hp all for a bentley-challenging $180k price tag.
