mmm has Porsche sold a sedan before? Not really, not in the recent history, I doubt this car is going to do well. Judging by those drawings, I think its ugly.

Have not seen the real thing, but from the renderings I don't like the rear of the car.

You guys honestly thought the Cayenne was good looking when it came out!?

Some incarnations of the 911 may look good now in hindsight but there have been howls of protest over the years.

The Cayman's 'back end' also looked very awkward to me when it first came out but now I like it overall.

But maybe Porsche is getting exactly what they want... we're TALKING about it.

I think they should have made it more like a Cayman's rear, now it's too 911 like ...

I do wish the rear was not so short in the pics we have seen but I'd rock it.

It is a Porsche

Default Spy Shots: Porsche Panamera suddenly not so bad ?

Spy Shots: Porsche Panamera suddenly not so bad

Posted Sep 30th 2008

We know when it happened, we just don't know why it happened. Autoblog reader Joshua Silverman sent in some cellphone pictures of a Panamera he drove by in Denver, Colorado. And all of a sudden -- like the Grinch's heart growing three sizes -- we liked it. Or at least, we got it.

Just to make sure, we had a look at the last set of Panamera spy shots, the ones that this very blogger lambasted as "still ugly," and, well, we kinda liked those, too. We could see possibilities. When the car is given the S and Turbo treatment, we could even imagine, incredibly, beauty. Have a look at the photos below for yourself, and tell us if we should take a bow for discovering the vision, or take a nap.

The wing detracts from the awkward bulbous-ness of the hatch.
I still won't judge til I see production photos, I think the car has potential to look awesome but there's still cladding that might hide it's true beauty.

I like it.

And actually, it looks like its got some room in their for some hybrid bats. Im assuming this will classify as a midsize.

I think they tried too hard to keep the Porsche butt on the sedan.

Totally agree. I don't know why they felt the need to make it a hatchback design.

The butt is getting to be less of an issue for me. As is waiting to see it in the steel or aluminum or whatever. This was really on my list to replace the GS but the closer it gets to intro, the more the price keeps going up. What was supposed to initially be a 5 series competitor is now beyone Quattroporte territory last time I looked at the price rumors. Probably going to be a nice driving vehicle but the price point is going to leave it pretty limited. Wonder if they will move more of them than XFs? XF may be a very successful TaTa but I sure wouldn't think there is much of a line for them by how many I have seen on the street.
