These are exquisite. Much better than other renderings.

There are rumors it become a fastback. I.e very short rear trunk that opens like a hatch. I do hope for something like the Benz CLS though.

Ready for 2009, that is 4 years from now.

Default First Porsche Panamera Test Mule Spy Photos

by Hans G. Lehmann

edited 04-07-2006

Here now are photos showing for the first time a test mule of Porsche’s all-new and first four-door Porsche Panamera. Since the engineers cleverly used an almost standard Cayenne for testing at Nurburgring, the difference in this prototype can be seen in all four fenders which are considerably wider - could be overlooked at a first glance.

Porsche has scheduled the launch of the new four door GT for 2009. It will be a front-engined four seater with rear and all-wheel-drive and power comes from V8 and V10 engines delivering between 340 and 600 HP. The car is supposed to cost 70 000 to 100 000 Euros. Porsche’s fifth model range will be assembled in Leipzig, Germany. Production of 20 000 units per year is forseen.

Am I the only one that thinks Porsche should just stick to delivering high-end performance vehicles? I mean I really think they should stop trying to cover more aspects of the market and bring us back to those days of "WOW a Porsche!" instead of "Oh hey another Porsche."

Yes they should, & this Porsche sports sedan /4 door coupe will be a high performance vehicle, I don't have much problem with them building the Panerama, much less so than that Cayenne abomination. I'm actually looking forward to see this Panerama compete with M5 & the Maserati sedan & the Aston 4 door coupe. They should just cancel the Cayenne instead, but of course that will never happen now

Right, I was more aiming that at the Cayenne and possibly the Boxster, although the Boxster delivers pretty respectable performance.

Now don't flame me, but I've never known this and always been curious... does Cayenne == Touareg?

There is no doubt in my mind that when this sedan hits the market, all other sport sedans will seriously pale in comparison.
Arguably sportiest car-911
Sportiest SUV-Cayenne
Arguably sportiest mid-engine car-Cayman S
Arguably sportiest convert-Boxster S

I can't wait

Porsche is just trying to own the 'sports' title in every vehicle category, and they have been extremely profitable and successful so far!

Good luck to them.
