i am not sure about the answer to this question. for FI and NA, which ones has more requirements on the air? somehow i would think a high output NA engine will have more specific requirement on the cold air. maybe that's why

ill wait to see real pics of what its going to look like, because the only thing that resembles a JGTC NSX car is the air scoop

Yes and no. They could but it depends on the turbocharger design and layout. There are some designs that put the aftercooler/intercooler under the car behind the rear wheels. These cars don't have the hatch scoop. Many other turbocharged cars that the aftercooler/intercoolor on top the engine. These need the hoodscoop for the airflow. Space is very tight in the NSX enige bay. You have to decide if you want the plumbing under the car or above the engine. Also, some run the hatch scoop with ITB velocity stacks. In the case of the hatch scoops, everyone does it for fuction rather than form. The one on the NSX-R pictured above is styled after the race JGTC NSX. Also, the reason why most supercharged NSXs don't have those hatch scoops is because most like the Comptech and Groupe M pictured are not using an aftercooler/Intercooler. Even the Basche Boost SC doesn't need one but does have applications for it.

Also, I can't really say if it has 500HP, but if it is indeed the JGTC race NSX motor, it should have 500 HP thus the classification in the GT500.

By the way, these types of rear hatch scoops in not unique to the NSX. Even the Toyota MR2 owners run their version air scoop. I guess it doesn't look as nice on the rear as it would on the hood like the STi, but there is little options when you run a mid engine car.

Here are some better examples of functional hatch scoops.

Here is the ITB applications. Often people running these will have some sort of custom hatch scoop as well.

Here is a picture of the aftercooler below the car behind the rear wheel. As you can see, if you go this route you don't need a hatch scoop, but you are much more limmited in the size you can run.

Here is the ones some MR-2 guys use.

wow 500k for 500 hp and you get the awsome honda badge too. What a deal. I'd much rather have that than 2 of every single model in the Lexus line and a few extra used ES's thrown in.

The price is rediculous. Even the guys on NSX Prime are not into it. However, if it really did closely match the JGTC GT500 NSX it would no doubt be one heck of a race car. But, it is not so it is way too pricey.

Anyway, 500HP in an NSX gets you into the high 10 low 11 second range so that is not bad at all. 500 HP in an NSX-R could get you into the low 10s.

very true, the car is going to be very fast, and the handling is just insane i am sure.

well i guess to those who can spend 2 mil to get the slr and 1 mil to get the enzo togther with the rest of the ferrari lineup, this nsx is nothing

that little honda powered go kart they ran on the test show was faster than all of them, but i wouldn't spend $500k on it

You would think after 15 years they would do a whole redesign.

with all due respect, as long as it's still excellent, why change? yes it's a honda, but it's a damn nice piece of art. same with the s2000. i don't think we all should just judge cars by the brand
