Who would you take your AMG S55 to for MORE power
Guys,
We have a friend with a new AMG S55, he is also the owner of a 9 second Nova. That being said, he wants to have at the very least 600hp in a car that will work fine as a high way car. We have looked at Renntech and Kleeman, but we are trying to expand our searches. Who would you guys recomend? Any shops that you would recomend? Anyone have experience with this.
Our only consideration is that the shop is in the US, as he doesn't wish to ship the car overseas for work.
Thanks
-Rob

Besides Renntech and Kleeman, there is Brabus. Their K8 package is for the V8 Kompressor models... but if i remember right, it takes you up to abou 560hp or so... not quite the 600 you are looking for. If you want 600, I believe Kleeman Stage II will take you that far.
Just a side note, i've heard on MBWORLD.org that Renntech doen't have all that great customer service, and their stuff isn't as reliable as Brabus. But then again, talk to the owners of those cars because they'd know better.

Renntech, Kleeman, Brabus, and Evosport doeas some of their own stuff...I would go the pulley/ECU route first...that should put torque in the high 600's. Maybe give the tuners a call and simply ask each one individually the same question: "How would you build a 600HP S55K and for how much?"
BTW - Nice problem to have...
