Keep the MB or sell it off????
All,
before I picked up my 2005 LS430, I drove a 1998 Benz SLK 230 Kompressor. this was the car that got seriously rear ended back in Nov. I finally got the car back yesterday, and after 18k the car LOOKS BRAND NEW! I was planning on selling it but am thinking of keeping it and making it the "toy" car.
the only thing the car needs right now, are shocks and some nice wheels.
What ya all think? Keep it or sell it off?

Personally, for a fun car I think you need more power than the SLK can provide. If you disagree and think you can still have that fun with the current engine, by all means. Since you just spent that much to get it repaired I don't think it would make much sense to sell it off and lose money...Keep it.

But I did the car for free, and insurance paid the 18k. All I had to pay for was a tip to the body shop that did all the work....
I was also thinking about getting the upgraded pully kit/exhaust/intake/ECU upgrades which would only come out to be around 5k w/ labor. But still ONLY get 240 or so HP to the wheels.

Ahhh, that makes more sense then. If the insurance picked it up and it's as good as you say it is you should keep it because it probably has a salvage title on it after the accident? That could make it tough to sell or cause you to lose out quite a bit on the resale.
However, if you really want something that's more fun there are multiple choices I would consider "better" than an SLK230 Kompressor.

Before the accident with the dents on the rear panels, they were offering 15k. Its a 98 with only 70k miles on it.
