Default What is the buzz on the Porsche Boxster?

Aside of opinions, what is the buzz on the boxster? A guy wants to trade me one for a couple of my cars i have as "toys" that would equal up to his book value.

Black on black, Manual tranny, '99 model. I drove it, it wasn't neck snapping, but ran out good.

I like the look of the boxster, but it is not a very fast car. If i remember correctly, it only has 220 horspower, my friend has an auto boxster, and i can take him in my gs300, now on a road course though i bet the porsche would kill a gs with mild suspension mods. In the end, its your choice, a beautiful driving experience

no, actually it doesn't I have had a 318. it is more like the 328, i'd go along with that. No doubt it is never going to be THAT fast, but the manual is much faster than the auto.

the car does has a different styling to it which catches your eye. I saw a Boxster at Sema last year that had a slew of aftermarket parts that made it look incredible. I'm sure with some $$$, you can pump up the motor an extra 30-40 HP...

So being experienced in all the car reviews, it looks like you approve of it, ?

The Boxster has simply either won or came close to winning every review in every magazine, period.

This is the "actual" Boxster in question. (a bit dirty)

I'd take a 911 (newer or older) over one of those anyday. I don't care for the back or the vert action.

^^watch the video. It's all about the driver. Your dad may be able to beat many better "cars" with lower level drivers.

Oh hell yes I approve, the car is the standard since it has been introduced. And mahn, drop it, add some staggered wheels, even maybe a GT-2 front end, droool. You can do TONS to it.

Just make sure the guy had the car maintained and all warrenty work was done.
