As a fan of both Lexus and BMW but not loyal to either, I think BMW has dropped the ball on their new styling direction, both exterior and interior. I'm sure they are fine cars, but other than the exterior of the new 6-series I don't like any of them. On the other hand, I really like the styling of the new GS and IS, interior and exterior, and for most of us the driving dynamics are a wash. If a domestic manufacturer came out with interiors like in the new 3-series, critics would say they were leftover from the 80's. Since it's in a BMW they will say it's "retro-chic" or something. My '84 RX-7 interior looked better. Shoot, even my '78 Trans Am (loaded, with 8-track tape & leaking t-tops) interior looked better!
My money will be going to Lexus.

I will agree with most members that the current 3 is much much nicer.
The new 3 is .....um.....like a mini-5 series
Well if people like the new 5, they will like the new 3....and if any hates the new 5, they'll probably hate the new 3 then.
I don't see the i-drive![Woohoo](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/woohoo.gif)
Edit: Never mind, it's there in the first pix.
I guess i-drive is there to stay, b/c it migrated to the the new S class also

That is one ugly *** car...........It actually looks worse in person.
For me personally, BMW had the best styling of any brand from top to bottom of their lineup just a few years ago, and now they have one of the worst.

BMW interiors feel very cheap... the leather is definitely hard... at least in my opinion... infiniti offers better materials in their cars.... and they share them with nissan! ive sat in my friends 545i and although passable for a luxury car.. the interior just isnt up to par. still, people buy BMWs for other reasons... they drive amazing!

Damn, they already got bodykits for this car already!!?? Thats pretty awsome. Lexus should be sending a few IS350's to aftermarket companies right about now. Heck they should have sent the new GS a long time ago. LOL. Oh man, I cant wait till the end of this year.

Official photos and info of the wagon are already out; looks like only the 325xi for a while, followed by a rwd version; no 330xi, unfortunately.
An AWD IS wagon would interest me greatly, but since that's highly unlikely, it looks like it'll be down to this and the A4 avant for me.
